My heart is full

Here is the time line of my labor and delivery...
Monday, October 11th, 2010
9:00am- Scheduled Dr.'s appointment. 2cm dilated!
9:30am- Follow-up ultrasound to check fluid levels. Fluid around the baby was low & Dr. felt it was time to have the BABY!
10:00am - 12:30pm- Packed hospital bags & had lunch at Bread Co.
12:30pm- Checked into hospital
2:00pm- IV's were set-up & pitocin drip started
5:00pm- 2.5cm dilated (almost 3)
5:00pm - 2:00am the next day- Pitocin levels adjusted with no change!

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010
2:00am- Not making progress (still at 3cm). Stopped pitocin drip so I could rest & to limit stress on the baby.
6:00am- Pitocin drip started up again.
8:00am- Still 3cm. Dr. decided to break my water!
9:30am- 5cm dilated 70% effaced.
10:00am- Still 5cm & contractions were very intense & painful. Received epidrual!
12:00pm- My contractions were not tracking well enough on the external monitors, so the decision was made to use an internal monitor.
12:15pm- Dr. arrived to examine me before inserting the monitor. I was 9cm dilated 100% effaced. A small army of medical staff arrives to transform my room for delivery!
12:30pm- 10cm dilated & the pushing begins. Yeah!!!
1:30pm- Dr. arrives & a series of 3 pushes ensues...
1:40pm- Sweet Abigail Mae was born!!!
Giving birth was the most amazing thing I've ever done! From the moment she emerged I was overcome with joy and overwhelmed with tears. Her little body was so pink and perfect, and her cries made my heart leap with thankfulness! My heart is so full and my life is forever changed. Praise the Lord!

CALIFORNIA

In mid-August we took a trip to California for Kurtis' cousins wedding! It was a beautiful celebration and a wonderful get away/babymoon for us before the baby arrives.

Trip to Arizona

We are so blessed to be able to take a trip back to Arizona before our little girl is born. It was so good to see family and friends we've missed for a very long time. It is safe to say we did a lot of celebrating: two birthday parties and a couples baby shower! Time spent with loved ones was just what our hearts needed to feel renewed. The baby shower thrown by my good friends Jenná, Pamela, and Kurtis' Mom was so fun! Great friends, good food, lots of laughing, and time to celebrate our little girl. We are so thankful for the short time we had to be back in Arizona!
Jenn is about 40 Weeks and I am about 27 Weeks

Boy or Girl?

Two weeks and counting until we find out if our precious Little One is a Boy or a Girl! I am hoping they cooperate at the ultrasound. :) I thought it would be fun to have you vote what you think we are having, so I added a poll on the side bar. Let us know your vote! We will be sure to let you know what we are having when we find out!

A little MIRACLE...

is growing inside of me! I am 13 1/2 weeks pregnant and we are so excited! We have had two doctor appointments and our little one is healthy and growing perfectly! Our God is amazing and it is so special to be entrusted with such a precious gift. I get so weepy thinking about this life growing and I am overjoyed! We can't wait to meet our precious Baby at the end of October! We would love your prayers!!!

First pregnancy test taken in February

Spring is Here

"The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy." Isaiah 35:1-2

Should I continue Blogging?

I have been thinking about time lately and wondering if I should continue to invest my time into this blog! There is lots to share, but at times I don't really know if I want my blog to be public. I am wondering if anyone reads my blog. Let me know so if I go private I can invite you to be a viewer!

My Hubby's 30th

I wanted to make Kurtis' 30th special and fun, so I thought of 3 places to take him throughout the weekend! I gave him a clue for each place and he had to try and guess where we were going!

The 1st Clue led us to The Moolah, a fun theater downtown where we sat on comfy leather couches!

Here we are in our 3D glasses getting ready to watch Alice in Wonderland

After the movie I took Kurtis to Ted Drewes! It is a famous custard place and very delicious!

Clue 2 brought us to Castlewood Park where we took a nice hike and enjoyed a great view of the Meramec River!

Clue 3 was all about seafood and one of the best places to go is McCormick and Schmick's!

My Mom did a special Birthday meal at her house!

We are both 30 and couldn't be happier!

The King of the day is ready to eat!

Homemade checkerboard cake...so cute and very yummy!

I love you and so very thankful for you!
