"Sweetly Broken"

At this time in my life this song has offered me encouragement and has reminded me of what is truly important. I feel myself allowing God to pursue me and it is a wonderful feeling!

To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink
Of its work I do sing

For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
And God is just

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given
Through Christ crucified

You’ve called me out of death
You’ve called me into life
And I was under Your wrath
Now through the cross I’m reconciled

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

In awe of the cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness

At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

Happy Anniversary!

On Tuesday we celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary! Our 2nd year of marriage was full of joys and challenges. God was faithful to use all those circumstances to grow our marriage. I am so very thankful to walk hand in hand with Kurtis, he has made my life more full and complete.
I am forever grateful for him! He is a strong man who is not afraid to show his emotions. Thank you, Kurtis for being vulnerable, real and loving me so well. I am excited to see what God will bring our way this year.
I love you so much!

My sweet Mom comes to Visit

We were blessed to have a visit from my Mom that, unfortunately, went by too fast! It was so refreshing and encouraging being with her. We had a great time enjoying the cool Arizona mornings/evenings on the back porch playing Farkle and just talking. It was so very special to have her here for Mother's Day! She is an amazing MOM who loves well and inspires me to live out of my real heart. She embraces God's truth and is truly an authentic woman.
I love you, Mom!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating our Savior, that He conquered death and has RISEN! Kurtis and I had a great day with his family. The song below is one of my favorites. Enjoy!

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss;
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart;
His wounds have paid my ransom

Lynn and Pete's Visit to Tucson

My sweet sister and her husband left snowy Chicago and headed down to the warm desert to visit us! We had a wonderful time with them and it was the best medicine for my soul. The time went by way too quickly and I am sad to see them go! We had a great time remembering old memories and making new ones on this trip. My sister is expecting in early September so it was fun to see her growing belly! I wish we lived closer so I could see her more and help her with baby things. I can't wait to be an AUNT! The Lord has truly blessed me with an amazing sister and a best friend! Enjoy the pictures!

Accenture Match Play Championship

We went with our good friends Pete and Jenna' to the last day of the golf tournament on Sunday, March 1st. It was played at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain not far from our house! Geoff Ogilvy won and Stewart Cink placed 3rd! We were not allowed to bring cameras to the course, so enjoy these photos we snapped beforehand.

Trusting

It has been awhile since I have posted and I really don't have much to share. The Lord has been shaking my life and for that I am grateful. It feels scary to not know what will happen next, but God has really challenged me to TRUST Him! Each day I have to choose to trust the Lord and not allow the uncertainties, loneliness, and anxiety
to invade my life.

"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you."
-Psalm 33:20-22

My Golden Birthday

A golden birthday is when you turn the same age as the day of the month your birthday falls on.
This year I turned 29 on January 29th!

Kurtis had so many surprises for me this year: poems, notes, coupon book, breakfast in bed, gourmet dinners, festive decorations, massages and more! He really went all out and I felt very celebrated and loved. He is so creative and sweet! The most amazing gift was a book he complied of sweet notes from my family and friends. I was very overwhelmed with joy and encouraged by all of the notes. Thank you! It was fun to have a few celebrations over my Birthday weekend as well!

Blue Owl Harvest Salad

Cut a slice of pumpkin bread (I buy one slice from Starbucks) into crouton size pieces. Place on baking sheet and Bake @ 475. Turn 2 or 3 times, until firm.

Add on Salad:
*Lettuce with Radicchio
*Grilled Chicken
*Diced Apples
*Grated Carrots
*Crasins
*Diced Mozzarella Cheese
*Toss with Poppy Seed Dressing
This makes 2 servings

This is a very simple salad, but looks very gourmet and tastes fantastic! I really enjoy trying new recipes and experimenting with presentation. Enjoy!
