Right now I find myself at a low place and I am not sure when it will pass. I know the Lord is faithful to not give me anything more than I can bare, and that He will provide me with the strength to stand up under any test.
However, I don't want to look beyond my present situation because I don't want to miss out on what the Lord wants to teach me in this moment.
This song by Ginny Owens really illustrates where I am in my life.
If You Want Me To
The pathway is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to
No I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
Then I will go through the fire
If You want me to
It may not be the way I would have chosen
When You lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'll never go alone
So when the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the darkness
If You want me to
I will walk through the valley if You want me to
Yes, I will walk through the valley if You want me to

Hey Lara,
I don't know if you remember me, but it's Erin (Johnson--WCA). I saw your blog through Amanda's and just wanted to let you know I love this song so much. It's one of my favorites and so moving. Thank you for sharing that with me. I hope you are doing well. It's fun to catch up with you through the blog. I have a little girl and live in STL. You can check out my blog! Good to see how you are! Take care. :)
Love, Erin
Lara, I think I have shared before that this song got me through a very tough, dark time my sophmore year of college! It continues to be one of my all time favorite songs out there and it's also the song you put on a CD you made me when I was in a tough spot last Beth Moore bible study! Sometimes I feel like Ginny Owens peaked into my heart and wrote it based on my experiences! I'm sure others can relate to that! I am praying for you, friend!
oops...I meant "peeked"!!
Love the song too- sorry you are walking through this hard place right now. "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken not my covenant of peace be removed,"says the Lord who has compassion on you. Is. 54:10
